Clubs
Youth Legislature
Youth Legislature Club is a boys and girls club where we learn and immerse ourselves in the bill to law process. We also attend a 2-day Youth Legislature Convention at the Old State Capitol where we become part of a mock (pretend) Louisiana legislative process. Members of the Youth Legislature Club will also become more knowledgeable about the government and how it works.

4-H
The 4-H Club is a group of young people who want to improve their heads, hearts, hands, and health. "Learn by doing" is the 4-H club slogan, and our 4-H members don't just read about things, they do them. They take part in club meetings, learn to lead, and help their neighbors through club activities.

Beta
The Beta Club focuses on academics, achievement, and good moral character as well as service to school and community. Beta is a service organization that works to make a difference in the community by performing service projects. Some examples of our service projects are Canned Food Drives, Christmas Crusade, visiting local nursing homes for Halloween contests and Christmas caroling, and Sock-It Drive just to name a few. We also participate in District Day and State Convention.
Beta members are drawn from sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. The club opens up its registration at the beginning of the school year to existing members and after the 1st 9 weeks of school is completed for new members. To join Beta you must maintain a 3.0 GPA in your core subjects (math, ELA, science, social studies) with only one “C” allowed. Your conduct and school wide behavior is also taken into consideration.

Yearbook
Do you want to be a part of capturing the good times here at St. Amant Middle School?
If you answered “yes,” you may want to consider joining the Yearbook Committee. We do just that. We capture the good times by taking pictures of school games and events. Then, we organize the pictures into a format that will be made into our yearbook. Sounds fun, right?!?
If you are interested, see Mrs. Goodson for an application form. We accept applications at the beginning of each school year. We meet on Club Days, and we have some after school meetings as well.
We look forward to receiving your application at the beginning of the next school year.
